Only 15 minutes by car from the beautiful Greek city Argostoli, the Kefalonia Airport "Anna Pollatou" is the gateway to one of Europe's most popular island destinations. Operated by Fraport Greece, which looks after 14 airports, Kefalonia Airport is part of the network of island airports that include Corfu, Chania, Kavala, Kos, Mykonos and Rhodes.

The official address is Kefalonia 2810, GPS location data is 38º7'10.83”N20º30'20.13”E or 38.119675, 20.505592.  At the single terminal passengers have free access to Wifi, they only need to connect to the network named Fraport-Free on their mobile device and launch their browser.

The air traffic in 2019/2020 represented 774,170 passengers in 2019 and 192,477 in 2020, showing the dramatic downturn the Corona Crisis has caused. Pre-Covid 19 the island's visitors were mostly British, followed by passengers from Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Poland.

Car rental companies at Kefalonia Airport include Avis Budget in Arrivals, the public area, which also houses Enterprise and Hertz Thrifty. Nearby there are car rental companies Green Motion Car Rental, Thalassa Rent A Car, Ionian Cars and Mercury Car Hire, among others.

The terminal contains several ATMs, including Eurobank (public area), Euronet (Arrivals, airside) and Piraeus Bank (external area). Hellenic Duty Free Shops, restaurants and coffee bars like Grecale in Departures offer passengers refreshments while they wait and duty free goods that will remind them of their lovely stay on Kefalonia. Shopping and dining can be found in Intra Schengen Area, airside, Ground Level or in the External Area, landside and the Extra Schengen Area.

Destinations from Kefalonia include Athens, Corfu and Zakynthos.  Airlines operating at Kefalonia are well-known names like Easyjet and Easyjet Europe, Iberia Express, Aegean Airlines, Air Serbia, Alitalia, Avanti Air, British Airways and Condor.

Kefalonia terminal's opening hours are Monday 10.00 to 14.00, Tuesday closed, Wednesday 10.00 to 16.30, Thursday and Saturday 9.00 to 17.30 and Friday from 11.00 to 16.30.

Transfers to and from Kefalonia Airport are possible via buses or taxis (there are no trains on Kefalonia) and inter-island travel is possible via several ferry services.

The city of Argostoli is only 9km distance from Kefalonia Airport and linked to it by frequent bus services, which run along the Argostoli-Lakithra route. Buses run only during the summer season though, starting from right outside the terminal. Tickets are available from the driver or online.
